STOP THE EXECUTION OF ROBERT LONG
The state of Florida plans to execute Robert "Bobby Joe" Long on Thursday, May 23, 2019 for the murders of eight women in Tampa, Florida throughout the 1980s. His known victims are Artiss Ann Wick, Ngeun Thi Long, Michelle Denise Simms, Elizabeth Loudenback, Vicky Marie Elliott, Chanel Devoun Williams, Karen Beth Dinsfriend,
Kimberly Kyle Hopps, Lisa McVey, Virginia Lee Johnson, Kim Marie Swann.
The Catholic Church teaches that the death penalty is an “attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person” and is “inadmissible” even in cases where a person has committed a terrible act of harm (Catholic Catechism 2267).
